The Venue
The Nixon Hotel is situated on the corner of Bourke Street and Batman Hill Drive, Docklands. It is diagonally opposite Gate 3 of Telstra Dome and to the North directly opposite Quest Serviced apartments, Devine apartments, Bendigo Bank, Channel 7 and Vic Urban Headquarters.
The Nixon incorporates a restaurant, separate bistro area, outdoor seating area with views to the Eastern cityscape and Telstra Dome’s big screen, as well as a large standing floor space to cater for those patrons streaming over from Telstra Dome, both pre and post game and event days. The Dome now encompasses not only AFL, but is also the home ground of last years National Football champions the Melbourne Victory, and is scheduled to host Rugby Tri Nations matches, the One Day Cricket Series and is also fast becoming the destination “events” arena for some of the larger musical concert events that Rod Laver Arena simply doesn’t have the capacity to cater for. Last year the Dome hosted U2 and Robbie Williams just to name a few.
In addition to match and event days, the Nixon will cater to the growing number of corporate offices calling the Docklands precinct home. The NAB, Bendigo Bank, Channel 7 and AXA already reside there, and in the not too distant future, the ANZ, Ericsson and National Foods will be just a short stroll to the Nixon.
The décor will be of warm culture using wooden floors, solid wood wall panelling to compliment the Old English style Tavern Bar. We feel that the Nixon will be a point of difference attracting the patron who wants to linger in comfortable surroundings in an ambiance of dim lights and natural leather seating throughout; a welcoming home style feeling that we have all experienced.
The menu hosts a myriad of international delicacies; Italian, Japanese, Indian and Baltic dishes are all on offer. The Nixon chefs are proud to display to you the creative culinary flare and exquisite taste of their native homeland dishes. The mainstay of pre and post match football culture shall of course be traditional; the famous 'Nixon Burger', unique special recipe parmagiana’s, a large range of the freshest and finest quality steak, chicken, seafood and vegetarian dishes are always on offer.
The Nixon hosts an unparalleled selection of liquor, beer and wine from local and international shores. With nine metres of illuminated back bar as a feature, the ability to showcase our vast selection of spirits, liqueurs, bottled beers and wine is never a problem.
We pour 8 supremely presented ice cold draught beers for our clientele to choose from, approximately 150 local and international wines on our list and an endless array of bottled beers, spirits, liqueurs and cocktails to quench any type of thirst imaginable.
